Why should I choose Swimming Pool Kits Direct?
faq-dropdown

We pride ourselves on the excellent customer service we provide to our customers in making the pool purchase as simple as possible.

We have carefully sourced top-of-the-range equipment and Australian manufactured where possible. The equipment's after-sales service and warranty periods are very important, and we have considered this when sourcing our equipment.

And to top it all off, we are a family owned and operated Australian business.

Is the pool shell made in Australia?
faq-dropdown

Yes, and our pool shells are made to order according to Australian Standards. Each pool is made with your colour choice and delivered direct from the manufacturer to your front kerb. This way they're not sitting outside exposed to the elements. We don't sell seconds or put pools into storage as we think that's not the best for customers.

Why choose fibreglass over concrete or vinyl?
faq-dropdown

Our Fibreglass pools have excellent longevity that comes with a 25-year structural warranty.

Unlike a concrete pool, it is a non-porous material, so you do not need to use as many chemicals in your swimming pool. The fibreglass also has a very smooth surface, unlike concrete, making it more enjoyable for little (and big) feet to enjoy running around.

Vinyl or liner pools are something that we have all probably experienced; they are a very cost-saving product; however, they can rip, and the liner may need replacing every 5-10 years.

What area do you service, when are you open, and where are you located?
faq-dropdown

Our manufacturer is located in NSW, our head office is in Sydney, NSW, and our second office is in Brisbane, QLD.

We service the whole East Coast of Australia, from Mackay down to Geelong.

We are open Monday to Friday from 9 am - 4 pm.

Purchasing

Do you include delivery in the price?
faq-dropdown

Yes, your price includes delivery and all the necessary filtration equipment.

How long does it take for delivery?
faq-dropdown

You will need to pay a $2000 deposit to get a delivery date. Once that is received, we will work with you on a timeline for delivery. We usually work with a 2-month lead time, depending on availability.

If I don’t get an approval, can I get a refund?
faq-dropdown

As mentioned in our T&Cs, which are available on all quotes, it states that a deposit will only be refunded if a customer has their Council pool approval rejected. If there is a valid reason regarding this and we have the paperwork from the government body, then we will issue a refund, minus a $250 administration fee.

Can I choose a different colour or modify the pool to my needs?
faq-dropdown

Yes, your pool colour can be changed; we have 10 premium shimmer colours to choose from.

Customising a pool shape or size is not something we are able to do, as the pools are moulded from precast shapes that are specific to the shells you see on our website.

Installation

Settings
How does it work with your company? Will you visit my installation site?
faq-dropdown

We are a completely online business; we do not have storefronts or showrooms, which enables us to keep our costs down to pass on these savings to our customers.

Once you know that you want a pool, you can decide on your pool by viewing our pool range online. Choosing a size and shape can sometimes be daunting for people. We recommend that you jump on your local council's website and determine your boundary requirements. Once you know these, you can narrow down a size and shape that will work for you.

After you have chosen a size and shape, we can send you a quote for the complete kit. This includes your swimming pool shell, pool filtration equipment, and the documentation that makes up part of your approvals and delivery.

We can also provide additional equipment to get the pool of your dreams.

As a business, we do not get directly involved in the installation process; however, we have a network of private contractors who have previously installed for our customers that we can recommend to you. These contractors will facilitate the entire installation process for you.

You have a few options regarding your approval process.

How do I get approval for the swimming pool?
faq-dropdown

We understand that getting approval for your swimming pool can be daunting, so we have broken it down for you below to help ease you into the process.

All new swimming pool construction in Australia requires approval. There are different requirements depending on the State and your Local Council Area.

Once a deposit has been received, we will give you the following documentation that makes up part of the approval process:

  1. Engineering Drawing
  2. Skimmer Box Compliance Certificate
  3. Computations Sheet
  4. STD 1A – Concrete Bond Beam Details
  5. STD 2A – Uniform Bearing
  6. STD 3A – Pier Details
  7. Litres of the pool and the setback measurements. The measurements are in mm, and the setback is measured from the coping to the pool floor.
  8. Customer User Guide
  9. Flood Document

Once you have these documents, you can start your approval process.

You have three options when it comes to approvals:

  1. DA with your local council and then a Construction Certificate
  2. CDC (Complying Development Certificate)
  3. Private Certification

Maintenance

Is the filtration equipment good quality?
faq-dropdown

One of our points of difference is the quality of our equipment. We use a family business based in Sydney that supplies high-quality equipment specifically for Australian conditions.

The supplier provides market-leading products, and the quality of after-sales service is exceptional. The equipment isn't cheap, but we prefer it that way as you will save money in the long run!

We're able to source many different brands so if you have a particular brand of product in mind then just let us know and we can create a customised package.

What is the warranty on the pool shell? Do you have after-sales service?
faq-dropdown

The pools come with a 25-year warranty from the manufacturer, covering the pool's structural integrity.

All the equipment comes with manufacturer's warranties, ranging from 1 to 25 years, depending on the product. These are all itemised for you on your quote and in the equipment upgrades brochure.

If you notice that something needs to be fixed, or you have a general question about your pool or a piece of equipment, then our friendly staff will look after this for you.

If it is a fault with your equipment, our supplier's technical support team will contact you within five business days (usually sooner). You are also given their details so that you can follow up if you choose.

What is the difference between a suction cleaner and a robotic cleaner?
faq-dropdown

Suction cleaners have a rich history; many of us can recall either attempting to capture them in the pool or feeling afraid of their presence! Over the years, these cleaners have made significant advancements. While their fundamental principle remains connecting to your skimmer box and operating in sync with the filtration suction and run time, they have evolved with wheels that allow them to manoeuvre along the pool floor gracefully and even ascend the pool walls.

One issue with suction cleaners is that they are in your swimming pool 24/7. Another problem is that whilst the suction cleaners are connected to your skimmer box, this is not skimming the top of your swimming pool.

Robotic cleaners are the new kid on the block and are a fantastic help for people who want a thoroughly cleaned pool. Robotic cleaners need to be lifted in by hand, and they are gently lowered, letting out all the air bubbles and then sink to the bottom of the pool. After being switched on, they will work on their inbuilt GPS to clean the bottom and sides up to the coping, seats and step areas.

After they have finished their cycle, you will fish it out of the pool, let it drain, rinse the small leaf basket, and put it away until the next time you require it.

What is a skimmer box? Does the pool come with a hydro-valve?
faq-dropdown

Your swimming pool is delivered with a skimmer box and two return valves. These are installed into the pool once on-site.

A hydro-valve is at the bottom of your pool and is screwed into place once on-site. This prevents the pool from building up pressure and popping out of the ground if water gets stuck under the pool.

Cuts are made for return eyeball jets and placed in the shell once on-site. They move the water towards the skimmer so that the water can flow through your pool filtration. They are not pre-cast into the shell and will be cut by your installer once the shell is in the excavated hole.

Double Your
Swimming Time
for a Few Extra Dollars

Your swimming pool plays a significant role in your family life; as a place to swim, relax, exercise, and cool off–but as the weather turns colder, your pool isn’t utilised often–yet you still have to maintain it.

The good news is that heating your pool could cost much less than you think, and the return on your investment could be to double or triple your usual swimming time! Make the most of your pool and stop spending half the year (or more) cleaning and paying for it without any benefit.
