How long does council approval take?

Queensland doesn't use CDCs like NSW. You'll need a Building Approval from a licensed private certifier—often issued within 24 hours to 5 business days. Note: Bayside spans two councils (Brisbane City for Wynnum/Manly, Redland City for Wellington Point/Birkdale/Victoria Point). Most residential pools don't need a Development Application unless your property has flood or heritage overlays.

When's the best time to install?

May to September. Winter is Brisbane's driest window—July and August see just 28mm of rainfall versus February's 150mm. Ground conditions are stable, and your pool is ready for the summer swimming season. Avoid December to February when wet season storms can delay excavation.

Can I legally install it myself?
