Built for Desert Extremes
40°C summers. 3,500 hours of sun. Extreme UV. Bring it on.
Summers here average 32–34°C, with heatwaves regularly pushing past 40°C. That's four to five months of essential swimming without heating—and up to ten months with a heat pump. Solar heating is exceptionally efficient in Broken Hill's climate.
But UV levels hitting 15 (among Australia's highest) and relentless heat demand materials that won't quit:
- Extreme UV-resistant gelcoat rated for Broken Hill's 14–15 summer UV index
- Heat-resistant shell construction engineered for sustained temperatures above 40°C
- Desert-ready surfaces built for low-maintenance in dry, dusty conditions
Real Family. Real Backyard. Real Savings.

Your Questions, Answered
How long does council approval take?
Most Broken Hill properties qualify for a Complying Development Certificate (CDC)—typically around 20 days via a private certifier. However, Broken Hill is Australia's first National Heritage Listed city, so properties with individual heritage listings may require a full DA. Grab a Section 10.7 Planning Certificate first to confirm your pathway.
When's the best time to install?
August to October. Temperatures sit at a comfortable 17–26°C, and your pool is ready for summer. April–May also works well if you want off-peak pricing. Avoid December–February—extreme heat (40°C+) affects concrete curing and makes conditions tough for tradespeople.
Can I legally install it myself?
Yes. In NSW, an owner-builder permit is required when coordinating two or more contractors on work over $10,000. We provide step-by-step guides and phone support throughout your project.
