Manage the Mission or Enlist Help?
We supply fibreglass pool kits built for Gippsland conditions—from the established family streets of Traralgon South to the modern developments of Glenview Park and the country-style blocks of Glengarry.
Here's how it breaks down:
- Coordinate it yourself - manage the trades and keep up to $40,000
- Kit + licensed installer - we connect you with a certified pro, you still save up to $20,000
Both routes skip the all-in-one pool company markup. Same quality pool. More budget for heating—which turns three and a half months of swimming into eight.
Built for Gippsland Conditions
27°C summers. Very high UV. Winter rainfall. Handled.
Summers here hit 25–27°C with UV levels reaching very high to extreme (11+) in peak season. Without heating, comfortable swimming runs late November to mid-March—about three and a half months. Add heating and you're swimming September to April.
Gippsland's climate brings wet winters (June–September see 70–81mm monthly) while summers stay drier (January–March just 43–46mm). That demands the right materials:
- UV-resistant gelcoat rated for Gippsland's summer UV exposure
- Winter drainage engineered for the region's wet June–September period
- Heat-retention design that works with your heating system to maximise swimming months
Real Family. Real Backyard. Real Savings.

Your Questions, Answered
How long does council approval take?
Victoria uses Building Permits—different from NSW's CDC system. You'll need a Building Permit from a private registered building surveyor for any pool over 300mm depth. Latrobe City Council doesn't process building permits directly. Most standard residential pools don't need a Planning Permit unless your property has specific zoning or overlay restrictions—check with council first.
When's the best time to install?
February to April is optimal—the driest period with just 43–46mm monthly rainfall and moderate temperatures perfect for construction. October to November also works well as conditions warm up before peak summer. Avoid June to September when wet winters bring 70–81mm monthly and cold conditions affect excavation.
Can I legally install it myself?
Yes, though work over $10,000 requires a registered builder or owner-builder Certificate of Consent from VBA. We provide step-by-step guides and connect you with licensed professionals for the regulated components.
